A hoop (mass 'm') is placed on a smooth horizontal surface as shown. A particle (mass '2m') is initially at the position shown, then it is given a velocity 3m/s, tangential to the hoop.
Radius R=(1/pi)m.
The motion that follows is quite complex, so is your analysis.
Find the time in which the particle completes 1 complete revolution inside the hoop.

ReplyDeletebro was i correct ?? :)
ReplyDelete@Sambhav: I suspected that. Guess I'm finally running out. :)
ReplyDelete@Shivam: You were correct. That's why I deleted the comment.
bhaiya yeh question mujhe us time par bhi samajh nahin aaya that and still I cant get it. You had earlier not considered mg that is why you were getting tangential acceleration as zero.
ReplyDeletebhaiya or anybody else please help
ReplyDeleteHINT :
ReplyDeleteall the forces between the hoop and the particle will be along normal.
But time period will be decided only by tangential motion which in this case is a motion under constant velocity.
bhai mere, I know it is an old post. please help in my doubt, mg is definitely not along the normal
ReplyDeletemg??? read : "smooth horizontal surface".
ReplyDeletebhaiya I mean weight of body would still be acting na..
ReplyDeletethink before you speak...
ReplyDeleteto bhaiya kya hum reference frame mein weight nahin consider kartey..please help, now I am really feeling depressed out
ReplyDeleteplease reply :-(
ReplyDeleteplz someone post the solution..
ReplyDeleteyaar see the previous posts with name one from good old days
ReplyDeleteplease help bhaiya or eminem, you help
ReplyDeleteFInally I got everyhting. I thought hoop was kept vertically on a horizontal surface like a vertical circle.
ReplyDeleteplz help somebody..
ReplyDeletethere ws no conclusion in d previous post also..

@ vmciam yaar mg bhi tanjent ke perpendicular hi to hai
ReplyDeletemind that hoop is sleeping on da smooth horizontal surface not standing, to ek z direction ka force (topward - N between hoop and plane, downward - mg ) uske x-y plane ke motion ka time period kaise change karega.
Example : in hellical motion of charged partical in perpendicular electric and magnetic fields Time period does not change.
Try to get an analogy
or call me someday bata dunga ;)
anuj bhaiya.. cn u plz post d full solution??
ReplyDeleteyaar jo bhaiya ne us link par solution diya hai, wahi soln hai. But,just consider net force on particle is not zero,it is always acting radially i.e. net force tangentially=0(that's more important)
ReplyDelete@amit.. at the end, bhaiya didnt give any conclusion to the problem there.. and maybe.. that's the reason why he posted the question again..!
ReplyDeletearey answer wahi hai, bhaiya wants to reach us to the conclusion, he just help us and give us hints so that we put pressure on our mind. Jo bhaiya ne approach post ki hai, woh bilkul sahi hai. I have got another approach but,it is exactly similar to that.
