the cantilevered point is at relative rest, so from the frame of that point, mw^2r is a force acting on the rod....i am getting that this force passes through the COM again and again, and hence my answer
After a very very long time I'm feeling a bit confused (wrt mechanics..)..but i believe that your approach was right Sambhav, and mine wrong.Lets forget that question for now..:(
well, i HAD got pi secs .... i assumed the ques as - the other point of the rod remains in a line & pi seconds is the time period of motion of this point!
